My Pictures, My Documents and the Desktop Folders

You may quickly access your MY folders by clicking the Blue down arrow, on the My Stuff bar, shown in the picture below:



When you click this button, a menu will appear listing your folders.

Select which folder you wish to go to. If, it does not go to the correct My Pictures folder, then you just need to set up the correct path in PhotoELF's Preferences, (click the hammer on the toolbar and select the My Stuff tab.

If you have windows Vista

Your My Pictures, My Documents etc. folders are located in:

C:\Users\ [user login name]\Pictures.

Navigate the PhotoELF folder system to C:\Users and go into each sub folder such as: BOB     or     OWNER     or    YOUR NAME etc.

In your user folder, you will find your Pictures, Documents and Desktop folders.



If you have Windows XP, 2000

Windows 2000, XP and Vista allow multiple users to share the same computer. Each user has their own My Pictures, Documents and Desktop folders.

Look in the following folder (On Windows XP or 2000):

C:\Documents and Settings\

OR

C:\Documents\


You will notice that there are several users found there. If for some reason, PhotoELF is not getting you to the correct My Pictures folder, then you can change the My Stuff menu to point to the correct folder.

Dig through each of the sub folders found under: C:\Documents and Settings\ until you find the one that contains your pictures, desktop and documents. Once you have found it, then click the hammer on the toolbar (Preferences) and look in the My Stuff tab. There you can change where this menu will point to when you select each menu item.

You can also set any of these folders to be a Fast Folder in PhotoELF.

To Set-Up a Fast Folder, click the Hammer on PhotoELF's toolbar. This will pop up the Preferences box. Click the Folders tab.

You may set up five different Fast Folders and each will be associated with the F1 to F5 keys on your keyboard and be available in a menu when you click the red down arrow button on the My Stuff menu bar.


If you have Windows 95, 98 or ME:

Your My Pictures folder is located in: C:\My Documents\My Pictures
Your Desktop is usually located in: C:\Windows\Desktop
Sometimes the Desktop is located in: C:\Windows\All Users\Desktop
