Calibrate Your Monitor
If your printed photos are not the same brightness and contrast as
when you view them on your monitor, you need to calibrate your monitor.
Adjusting the contrast and brightness of an image in the Image Editor will
change the image itself and will have an effect on the printed image.
If your monitor's brightness is set low you will typically need to adjust the brightness of
your images. Which may not be a good thing when they are printed.
Here is a simple technique for calibrating:
Step 1: Print any normal picture on your printer.
Step 2: Hold this printed picture up to your monitor
Step 3: Adjust your monitor's brightness and
contrast to match that of the picture.
Now, when you adjust brightness or contrast in the Image Editor, it will more closely match the printed results.
